Answers

Q: How do I use the search engines on your website?
A: The search engines are designed to search by only one criteria. They will search by name, or address, or parcel, or book and page, or filing date, etc. Only enter one type of criteria into the search fields.

When searching by name, and you are not getting the results you wish, try putting in less information. When I put in just "Hutcheson" in the name field, several Hutcheson's we're returned. If the county does not record your name with a "comma" (Hutcheson, Charles) or (Hutcheson Charles), then do not put one in your searches.

When searching by book and page, and you are not getting the results you wish, try putting spaces before the book and page numbers. For example, when searching for book 454 and page 38, simply entering these two numbers will not work. The book and page form entry fields can accomodate up to 4 characters each. This means that in order to search for book 454 (it only has 3 characters) put a space at the beginning (spacebar 454). Page 38 (it has only 2 characters) will need two spaces in front of it.

When searching by address, the courthouse recorded your address as "Sharp Rd" instead of "Sharp Road". I just put in "Sharp" without "Road" and without a house number and started my search from there.

Q: When I look up my Deed of Trust, can I get a copy of the recorded document over the Internet?
A: Not all counties have chosen to put their documents on the Internet. Please contact your county official for more information.

Q: Why do I keep getting "The page cannot be displayed" when doing searches?
A: This can be happening for two reasons. You may have an old search "cached" in your web browser. To delete the "cached" pages click Tools->Internet Options->Delete Files. Next, you will need to hit the "Refresh" button. If this doesn't fix the problem, your privacy settings may be set too high for our website. This is usually the case when your privacy settings are set to "High" or "Block All Cookies". Try changing to "Medium High" or "Medium" by clicking Tools->Internet Options->Privacy Tab->Drag Settings to Medium or Medium High.
